Castlegate’s Support for the Children’s Bereavement Centre

The team at Castlegate have nominated the Children’s Bereavement Centre in Newark as our primary charity to support throughout 2024, in addition to our other fundraising efforts.

Our support started this weekend with their annual duck race, where over 1,000 small ducks and over 50 giant decorated ducks sponsored by local businesses and individuals raced down the River Trent and by Newark Castle.

Below are photos of Castlegate’s giant duck in our corporate purple and two of our team members cheering them on. Members of our team also individually sponsored several small ducks.

Castlegate will continue to support the Children’s Bereavement Centre this year. You can read more about the crucial work they do below and on their website:

‘The Children’s Bereavement Centre is run by a committed team of friendly, supportive and professional people who are passionate about helping children and young people to cope with the grieving process brought on by the death or terminal illness diagnosis that has a prognosis of a year or less for survival of someone close.

Although it is a natural part of life, the loss of someone close can be a distressing and overwhelming experience, especially for children and young people.

The Centre is open to children aged 3 to 18 and we offer a welcoming and safe environment for them and their families to receive the help and guidance they need at one of the most devastating times in their lives.’
